Target was the ultimate place to be. The most awesome superstore kind of place out there. Valley's place of choice for all her shopping needs.
As far as groceries and such went, that was. Clothing shopping there, however, was mighty tacky. And she would never ever be caught dead there. However, the 'great save' was here and it was a good time to stock up on other things. First thing Saturday morning, she was in the car and driving with her boys to the store. Better to get it all done early. There were definite plans that night and she would not quit them for anything. It was a date with one of the hottest guys at St. Therese. Any girl who would pass that up to do some shopping for her pre-marital family was absolutely crazy.
In a different way than Val really was, that is.
Long story short, dressed in her ass jeans and lowcut babydoll top, the girl was there at noon to get in and get out. That was the worst time to shop at such a store and she would be paying for it. The first way was by nearly getting run over some fat lady in such a hurry to get her Starbucks just as they walked in. And it only got worse from there. A sleezy old man checked her ass out, her youngest son Jayden got the hiccups and someone spilt an icee on her flip flops. Such a great start to an afternoon. "This better not be reflective of the rest of the day...,
As soon as the happy little family reached the back of the store, things seemed to settle down a bit, though. Valley breathed a heavy sigh and piled diapers, soda, toilet paper and chips. There were only a few things he needed to pick up for the kids after this. Maybe get them a toy. Then she would finally be out of here. Just a little bit longer.... "JJ, hand Mama the shopping list, will you?[/b]" she asked, turning back towards the cart. She had given the three-year-old the list to keep him satisfied he was necessary on this trip. Looked like that was a bit of a mistake. The silence she recieved showed this, as did the lack of his presence in her area anymore.
Eyes wide and heart racing, she checked to make sure the baby, Roman, was still there. Luckily, he was. A second later, she was running with her cart down the aisle and looking frantically for her son. Maybe she was a bad mother....
The whole while, Jayden had a rather large smile on his face. He held the list in his hands with extra care and started to walk down the aisles. It was plain to see how stressed out his mama was and he only wanted to help. With that determination, his gaze scanned all the adults around the store. They all seemed to be rather busy and he didn't want to bother them. That was rude. No, he wouldn't interrupt someone speeding through the store. He was sure they had better things to do. But he did still need help.
After a few minutes, he found a woman in an aisle full of things he didn't really care about. His little legs carried him over to her and he looked up. She was...kind looking. He thought so anyway, but what did he know? He was only a child and didn't have the best judge of character. Clearing his throat cutely, the young boy reached up to tug on the hem of the other's shirt. After flashing a smile he held up the pink piece of paper to her and asked in his small, meek voice, "Escuse me? Mizz? I nee' some he'wp wiff dis. Can yew he'wp me shawp fo' my mama?[/i]" His toddler way of talking combined with the adorable look in his eyes conveyed the seriousness of this all. He was very set in helping Valley to shop so they could sit and have family time later. Little did he know that asking Andre for help may not be the best idea in the world. How was he to? He was only a child afterall.
